ولقد تناول هذا الكتاب أساسيات علم الإدارة، وقد بدأ المؤلف أولاً بتعريف علم الإدارة ومفاهيمه، ومبادئه وخصائصه وعلاقته بالعلوم الأخرى، كما استعرض تطوره منذ الحضارات التي عاشت على الأرض العربية في بلاد الشام والرافدين وحتى وقتنا الحاضر، مروراً بمدارس الفكر الإداري الغربي المعاصر، وأكد على أهمية تطوير نظرية إدارية إسلامية أساسها الأخلاق والقيم السلوكية الإسلامية، ومن ثم قدّم المؤلف وظائف الإدارة وهي التخطيط ونظرية إتخاذ القرارات، ووظيفة التنظيم والتوجيه والرقابة واستعرض وظائف المنظمات وبيئتها وأشكالها القانونية لإثراء معارف الطلبة.
كما أضاف فصلاً لعرض الحالات الإدارية التي تساعد المدرس على نقل المعرفة الإدارية وبعض المهارات الخاصة بكيفية إتخاذ القرارات إلى الطلبة، والإداريين العاملين في مختلف البنوك والشركات.
