"مذكرات ووثائق سرية لثورة يوليو" إنما هي محاولة لإعادة اعتبار لثورة يوليو ومشروع "عبد الناصر" الذي ما زال صالحاً لاستعادته عبر شروط الحاضر لتجسيد (الفعل) الذي يجب أن ينتقل بالعرب إلى المستقبل حيث أصبح الماضي، فيما نرى، هو الدافع الكبير لتحريك الفكر (المضارع) وإدراك (الوعي) الحاضر من أجل امتلاك الإرادة (بالمستقبل) ولأن عبد الناصر جزء من خيوط الماضي؛ فإنه في ضوء المضارع، يظل نسيماً حياً من مصادر الوعي بالحاضر، ومن ثم، الوعي (بمشروعه) هو الوعي باكتمال النسيج في امتداد المستقبل. عبد الناصر ما زال بيننا... ورغم أن محاولة المؤلف في كتابه هذا ليست الأولى حيث كانت الأولى كتابه: "المثقفون وعبد الناصر"؛ إلا أنه حاول هنا استعادة الوعي بعبد الناصر عبر عدد من القضايا الحية، ما زالت حية، فكل فصول الكتاب كانت في الأصل أبحاثاً ومجالاً لمطارحات بين كاتب السطور وبين عدد من الجماهير العربية، ليس المثقفين فقط، فقد طرح المؤلف أغلب هذه الأبحاث بين باريس ومدريد، كما أنه طرح بعضها الآخر بين تونس والأردن والقاهرة. وهو يقول بأنه وفي جميع الحالات، استفاد بالوعي عن عبد الناصر العربي (وليس المصري فقط..)؛ ويقول العربي؛ لأن عبد الناصر كان واعياً للبعد العربي وعياً حاداً رغم الهزائم التي شارك فيها العدد الصديق... أما عن منهج المؤلف، فقد كان منهجه تاريخي موضوعي خاصة، حيث كانت الوثائق والمصادر الحية التي استفاد منها موثقة ومسجلة، كما أنه سعى ليكون حيادياً عند كتابته عن ثورة يوليو/تموز خاصة، وعن عبد الناصر على وجه أخص. ويمكن القول بأن المؤلف سعى من خلال كتابه هذا لرد اعتبار عبد الناصر الذي وجده لدى أبناء الشارع العربي، وفي بعض الفضائيات غير المدجنة، وفي بعض وسائل الإعلام التي افتقدت في عصر المهانة شعار "رفع الرأس" الذي دعا إليه عبد الناصر منذ نصف قرن أو ينيف.
