في هذا الكتاب تم دراسة موضوع الفحص الطبي قبل الزواج من الناحية الشرعية والقانونية والتطبيقية، ففي الفصل الأول من هذا الكتاب تم تحديد مفهوم الفحص الطبي قبل الزواج، والأمراض المؤثرة في الحياة الزوجية والتي يجب أن يفحص منها، والفوائد والعيوب المترتبة على إجراء الفحص الطبي قبل الزواج، والحكم الشرعي لهذا الفحص مع عرض أقوال الفقهاء المعاصرين، والشروط الشرعية لإجراء هذا الفحص والتي تضمن تحاشي السلبيات التي قد تترتب على الفحص، وضرورة الفحص الطبي قبل الزواج في حالة الزواج من الأقارب لضمان الوقاية من الأمراض الوراثية في النسل.
وفي الفصل الثاني أوضح المؤلف الجانب القانوني المتعلق بالفحص الطبي قبل الزواج، وبين مفهوم تقنين الفقه الإسلامي وتطوره وفوائده وعيوبه ومذاهب العلماء في مشروعية تقنين الفقه الإسلامي ورأي المجتمع الأردني بقانون الإلزام بالفحص الطبي قبل الزواج، ثم تم إقتراح مشروع قانون للفحص الطبي قبل الزواج، وأجرى بعض التعديلات على قانون وزارة الصحة لعام 2004 الخاص بالفحص الطبي قبل الزواج.
