تأسيساً على القول الكريم في كتابه تعالى بأنهم يحرفون الكلم عن مواضعه، فإن المعالجة الواردة في هذا الكتاب ليهوه أو للرب التوراتي أو لسائر الشخصيات والأسماء، إنما تستند إلى ما هو وارد في النص المتداول للتوراة، والذي يرفض العقل السليم، كما رفض علم التاريخ وكل الدراسات الإنسانية وغيرها، اعتباره كتاباً منزلاً.
وبالتالي فالمؤلف لا يتعرض هنا للربوبية المطلقة مثلاً عندما يتعرض ليهوه، ولا للشخصيات الأخرى ذات التبجيل الخاص في الإسلام والمسيحية، ولا حتى لليهودية الحقة التي يقرّها الإسلام كدين توحيدي، بل المراد هو ما ورد في النص المحكوم عليه مسبقاً أنه غير كتاب الله الأصلي.
ليس من شأن هذه التأملات في النصوص التوراتية أو في بعضها أن تناقش وقائع التوراة من حيث صحتها أو دقتها التاريخية أو أمانتها، بل تأخذ النص كمعطى وكمادة اعتقادية لمجموعة بشرية، كما هي، وتحاول استقراءها والوقوف على ما تتركه من أثر على المعتقد بها وعلى أي نحو تصوغ شخصيته. إن المادة المقدمة هنا هي جهد في سلسلة تستهدف دراسة النص التوراتي للخلوص إلى تداعياته العملي في صوغ شخصية اليهودي الحالي المؤمن بهذا النص وسلوكه ومواقفه.
