أن اهتمام الدكتور جبلي بمقارنة القوانين الوضعية بالشريعة الإسلامية هو عمل مميز يضيف على الكتاب الجانب الإسلامي والعربي، والحق أن الكتاب صرخة ومناداة لعلماء الطب النفسي والإجتماعي وعلم النفس ورجال القانون في العالم العربي للاهتمام بهذا الفرع، وجمع وبائيات وانتشار الاضطرابات السلوكية والإجرامية بين المرضي النفسيين حيث اننا مازلنا نعتمد في هذه الدراسات علي أبحاث الأنتشار في الولايات المتحدة وأوربا في معظم كتبتنا العربية. وبتحدث دكتور جلبي عن الحجز الاجباري بالمستشفيات وهي نقطة شائكة جعلت الأمم المتحدة تصدر بيانها الشهير 1992 في حقوق المريض العقلي.
كذلك آثار الدكتور جبلي مسألة شفاء المريض معد أقترافه جريمة القتل وحيرة الأطباء النفسيين في احتمال عودته لهذا السلوك ثانياً. لا شك أن قراءة كتاب الدكتور جبلي متعة للطبيب النفسي، ولرجال القانون والقضاء وللأخصائي النفسي والإجتماعي، أن الكتاب شامل في محتواه ويخدم قضية هامة في المجتمع العربي طال إهمالها وآن الأوان لاعطائها أهميتها الحقيقية في علاقة الطب النفسي بالقضاء أو ما يسمي بالطب النفسي الشرعي.
