لم تدر بالوقت الذى انقضى عندما فزعت فجأة من نوعها وقد غمر الحجرة ضوء مبهر. رأت أمامها جابرييل وسكين المطبخ فى يده. ابيض لونها حتى صارت قطعة من الشمع. صرخت بصوت مكتوم. - أوه. ما الذى يحدث يا الهى.؟ - لك اله أيتها العاهرة وأنت تنامين فى فراشه.؟ رأت الأشياء ضبابية ، تلاشت. جابرييل وحده ملأ الفراغ أمام عينيها وهو يطير فى خطوة واحدة الى الشرفة. غمغمت وهى لا تصدق ما يحدث. - فراشه.؟ فراش من.؟ وعاد جربيل والشرر فى عينيه، كان يتمايل أما عينيها وكأنه بندول ساعة حائط ضخم. - أين أخفيته أيتها القذرة.؟ وأفاقت قليلا كمن كانت فى حلم صاعق. - من.؟ أخفيت من أيها الأحمق.؟ - نسيته.؟ الذى كان فى حضنك من لحظة.
