اكتشفت مع الأيام أن بعض الناس فى داخلهم يختلفون كثيرا عما فى خارجهم, أثوابهم موشاة بالقصب, مطرزة بالماس والياقوت, وجلودهم محفور عليها الحقد والضغينة والحسد والرغبة فى الانتقام, ولكن هؤلاء أقلية مسحوقة وإنما الأغلبية الساحقة من الناس الطيبين, يقفون معك فى الشدة, ويسندونك فى المحنة, ويعطفون عليك فى الأزمة, تنشق الأرض فتجدهم حولك, لاتعرف من أين جاءوا ولا من أرسلهم, لم تعرفهم من قبل ولم تسمع بهم, صغارا فى مراكزهم كبارا فى صمودهم, لا يحملون سياطا يضربون بها, ولا سيوفا يحاربون بها, ولا مدافع يطلقونها, ولكنهم يحملون قلوبا كالقلاع لا تسقط أبدا, ولهم ألسنة حادة كالسيوف يقطعون بها رؤوس الطغاة والبغاة والمستبدين.
ورأيت فى قاع المدينة نبلا وإيمانا وصمودا وشجاعة وجرأة ومروءة لم أر مثلها فى قمة المدينة, صحيح أننى رأيت على القمة أبطالا وعباقرة وعمالقة ووجدتهم أشبه بالجبال الشامخة, وصعدت إلى قممهم لأجد أنهم وصلوا إليها بكدهم وعرقهم وجهدهم وإيمانهم وقد أخذت من هؤلاء بعض أشخاص أتحدث عنهم كما رأيتهم من قرب, بلا مكياج, ولا ألوان ولا أقنعة!
