إن علم أصول الفقه يُعدُّ من أشرف العلوم بعد علم الفقه، وأعظمها نفعاً، وأبعدها أثراً في إيجاد الملكة الفقهية، والقدرة على إستنباط الأحكام الشرعية الفرعية من أدلتها التفصيليّة المقررة والمعتبرة شرعاً، وبدونه يتعذرُ على الفقيه المجتهد والوصولُ إلى إستنباطُ الأحكامِ الشرعيةِ من أدلتها.
وقد اكتسبَ هذا العلمُ أهميةً كبيرةً لوقوعهِ في طريق إستنباط الأحكامِ الشرعيةِ المطلوبةِ من المكلفِ، بل ووقُوعهُ في طريق رضا الله تعالى والسعادة الأخروية والدنيويةِ، بتمكين المكلّفِ من معرفةِ وظائِفِهِ في إمتثالِ التكاليفِ الشرعيةِ، ومعرفةِ أحكامِ الأفعال، الآمرةِ بتطبيقِ قواعدِ العدالةِ الإجتماعيةِ، وبهذا يظهرُ الإرتباطُ الوثيقُ بينَ عِلمي الفقهِ وأصولِهِ مِن جهةٍ، وبينَهُمَا وبينَ رضا الله تعالى والسعادةش الأُخرويةِ والعدالةِ الإجتماعيةِ من جهةٍ أخرى.
وأمّا سَببُ إختياري لهذا الموضوع وبهذا العنوان: هو معرفةُ سِرِ ومصداقيةِ ما توصلَ إليه السيد اليزدي في علمَي الأصولِ والفقهِ وأسبابُ اهتمامه البليغِ بهذا العلمِ، والإطلاعُ على ما تفرّدَ بِهِ من أسلوبٍ ومنهجيةٍ ودِقَةٍ في أغلب كتبهِ لا سيّما الفقهيّةُ والأصوليةُ منها، وسرِّ إتخاذِها منهجاً مدرسيّاً وكثرةُ الإهتمام بها شرحاً وتعليقاً كَمَا هُوَ واضِحٌ في كتبه العروة الوثقى، والحاشية على كتاب المكاسب وملحقات العروة الوثقى، وغيرها والإطلاعُ على المباني الأصوليةِ المستعملةِ في إستنباطِ الأحكامِ الشرعيةِ بصورةٍ عامةٍ.
