وقد راى المؤلف أن للفن وظيفة تستهدف النهوض بالمجتمع وتهيئة السبيل لرفع مستواه وإسعاده فإذا ما إتجه الفن فحسب إلى إثارة لذات الحس أو تسجيل أشكال الناس والكائنات ومشاهد الطبيعة أو إلى إبراز المهارات فإنه يكون قد إنحرف عن هدفه الإنساني الأصيل.
