لقد أشار علي بعض الزملاء في القسم بوضع كتاب تدريسي للمقرر بعد هذا المشوار الطويل في تدريس هذا المقرر، بدلًا من الاعتماد على الإملاءات والمذكرات والتصوير من بعض الكتب. فاستعنت بالله عز وجل وبدأت بالكتابة قبل ما يزيد على السنة، وفق مفردات مقرر الغرر والتأمين بالقسم، ووفقًا لبعض المقترحات التي أشار علي بها من قرأ المذكرة الإرشادية لتدريس المقرر، والتي وزعت على أقسام الاقتصاد الإسلامي والإدارة والشريعة بالجامعات السعودية.
يهدف الكتاب في المرتبة الأولى إلى تعريف الطالب الذي يدرس التأمين بما يحتاج إليه فيما يتعلق بموضوع التأمين، سواءًا أكان الطالب في مرحلة البكالوريوس، أم كان في مرحلة الدراسات العليا. كما يهدف إلى تعريف القارئ من غير الطلاب الدراسين لمقرر التأمين بما يحتاج إلى معرفته حول هذا الموضوع. وبخاصة وأن الكتاب يضم في جنباته خلاصة قراءاتي حول الموضوع، ومناقشاتي مع الطلاب وبعض المختصين بالموضوع على مدار 25 عامًا، وخلاصة للعديد من البحوث التي قدمتها في عدد من المؤتمرات المحلية والإقليمية، على أمل أن يجد فيه الطالب والباحث والقارئ ما يغنيه عن اللجوء إلى غيره من المراجع. ولقد حرصت على توصيل المعلومة بأسلوب آمل أن يكون سهلًا إن شاء الله. كما حرصت على تقديم أمثلة تطبيقية، بالإضافة إلى ختم كل باب بخلاصة لأهم محتوياته، وأسئلة حول ما ورد في الباب. مع وضع قائمة بمراجع الباب، وبعض المراجع الإضافية المقترحة.
