يقول الكاتب في مقدمة الكتاب إن شعوبنا الثلاث العربي والأرمني والبلغاري قد عاشت فترة طويلة ومتشابهة من التاريخ, وهذا ما وطد عرى الصداقة والاحترام المتبادل بينهما, وقد أدركت بعد العديد من اللقاءات والأحاديث والصداقات بأن الانسان العربي هو شخصية غنية بالصفات الروحية الرائعة يمتاز بالحكمة والتعلق بالعدالة وهذا دفعهم إلى المغامرة بحياتهم من أجل إنقاذ وإيواء آلاف الأطفال والأرامل والمسنين من الأرمن وحمايتهم وهذا إن دل على شيء فإنما يدل على الشهامة العربية. إنني أعتقد أن العرب قد ضربوا بهذه المأثرة مثلاً في المدنية لاوربا التي لم تكن متحضرة دائماً. سوف أكون سعيداً إذا ما ساعد كتابي في تعرية كثير من الأكاذيب التي نسخها المستعمر حول حقيقة الحضارة والتاريخ الأرمني ويسهم في خدمة الصداقة التقليدية بين العرب والأرمن والبلغار الذين كثيرا ما تعرضوا لظلم المستعمر ولكنهم لم ينحنوا أبداً أمام العواصف.
