ثم بعد ذلك عرض الكتاب للمشكلات التي تواجهها الأسرة سواء كانت مشكلات تقليدية مرتبطة بالأسرة أو كانت مشكلات مرتبط بوظائفها.
ثم تم تناول التحديات المعاصرة التي تواجه الأسرة في مصر والوطن العربي. ثم بعد ذلك تم عرض الخدمات المقدمة للأسرة وعرض لإسهام الخدمة الإجتماعية كمهنة تساهم وقائياً وعلاجياً وتنموياً في النظام الأسري.
ثم أخيراً عرض التشريعات التي تنظم الأسرة في المجتمع المصري بكل فئاته. ويمثل هذا الكتاب إطاراً تصورياً لبناء الأسرة ووظائفها ومشكلاتها و للتشريعات المنظمة لها.
