إسرائيل القديمة ليست إلا أسطورة.. أصبح من الممكن تفريغها من مفهومها اللاهوتي أخذًا بالنصوص الواردة في المتن المقدس بالرغم من أن الأقلام غير الأمينة والمخادعة حولت الكتاب المقدس إلى مجموعة من الأساطير التي ليس لها دليل يؤكدها بل هي في حقيقتها ليست إلا حواديت تلاعبت بها الأقلام للدرجة التي جعلتها لا تسمو لمجال الحقيقة وهي بذلك وبالضرورة لا ترتفع لمستوى العقيدة.
فالعقيدة طبقًا لقول المتصوفة قضية اختمرت في القلب وصدقها العقل واقتنع بها الضمير بحيث أصبحت يقينًا لا تطفو إلى العقل لتناقش، فإن طفت لمناقشة صار الإيمان ناقصًا، ومنطقة الإيمان هي الغيب، غيب لا تراه العين أو تدركه الحواس، فالإيمان بالله هو اليقين المطلق ومحاولة إنكار وجود الله هو تأكيد لوجوده. إذ أن محاولة الشك الذي يستدعي الجدل في وجود الشيء لا يتحقق إلا إذا كان الشيء ذا وجود فعلي ومميز، وإذا لم يكن هناك وجود لشيء فلا حاجة لنفيه أو الجدل في وجوده.
