في هذا الكتاب، أخشى أن تكون الكلمة على هذا النحو: مغامرة بوسيلة سيئة لبلوغ ما لا يُبلَغ، كلمة أُصيبت من ذاتها بدُوار، فراحت تُداور معاني عابرةً في دُوارها على نفسها، وعلى مواضيع متفرّقة، لا علائق ما بينها.
أفكار تواردت في صدد أحداث متباينة، مُتنائية، متفاوتة الأهمية، بتأثير من إنفعالات عابرة، سريعة الزوال.
كتابٌ، بالتالي، فوضويٌّ يعكس فوضايَ، مِزاجيّته من مزاجيّةٍ خاصّة لا تستكين، بَرَتْها الأيام، واستهلكها التأمل.
كتاب أهوج فيه يُصارع الفكر جموحَ أشباح وحقائق، وينتهي إلى صفائية محضة، ثاقبة، شبه خارقة، وإلى "دقائق" تتحكّم بالفكر قدر ما يتحكَّم الفكرُ بها.
كتاب عانَدَ بقدر ما عاندتُ حتى لظنته يأبى إلاَّ أن يكتب نفسه بنفسه، على هواه، شعرت معه بأن للنصوص كياناً خاصاً؛ مزاجيّة مستقلّة عن إرادة كاتبها!...
كأنما ثمّة نصوص يشوقها أن تعصى على الإنصياع للصياغة، ومفارقاتٌ تكاد لا تكون إلى ما نريدها إليه، كأنما النصوص تضمر أن تقود المؤلِّف إلى حيث تشاء - أو لا تشاء - لا إلى حيث يشاء هو.
النصّ يكشف للإدراك ما يريد كأنما الكاتب مجرّد أداة، كأنّ الكتاب يساهم في إنشاء نفسه بنسبةٍ غامضة يعسر تقديرها.
