يعد "أحمد موسى الحديبي" كاتب قصة متميز في تناوله القصصي لما يلتقطه من أحداث يعيد تناولها واشتغالها من الحياة اليومية المعاشة بعد تحميلها بإيحاءات رمزية بعيدة الدلالة مما يعطي أسلوبه الكتابي خصوصية تشير إليه. ونستطيع أن نستنتج من تجربته مستويين:
مستوى تبدو فيه هذه القصص مباشرة وقريبة للقارئ من خلال القراءة الأولى، ومستوى أعمق لا يمكن استظهاره إلا بعد إعادة قراءة العمل أكثر من مرة. ويرى الدكتور (محمد حبيبي) هذا النفس الكتابي، الذي برز في مجموعته القصصية الأولى، تجلَّى على نحوٍ أكثر وضوحاً في مجموعته القصصية الثانية «كما يريد الصغير»، وهو العنوان الذي يعكس المستويين، حيث بساطة العنوان الذي يبدو مجاراة لرغبة الصغير- الطفل، بينما البعد الأعمق هو تلك الأسئلة الصعبة للمسائل التي تتعقد حولها إجابات الكبار، نظراً لما تنطوي عليه من إشكالات وقضايا كبرى؛ تظل معها الإجابات معلقة ومفتوحة الاحتمالات، مما يجعلها ذات قيمة أعمق وثراء متنامٍ.
نقرأ له: "يالهذا العشق نحوك، أسمّر عيني في عينيك، وأشعر أني في غير هذا الكون، وأن جنوني بك يحرقني ويقتلني ويزرعني ابتسامة على شفتيك ويجلسني، أعبث بحبات الرمل على الشاطئ، ويجعلني أغني أغاني المال واليا مال وحينها تأتين محملة بالآمال والأطماع، وتكسرين فيّ انبعاثاتي ، ووقتها أسكن في عينيك، واحتفل بعيد ميلادي الأول، وأبتهل بأن الله يخلصني من الويلات، وأن الله يحرّرني من مدن تقيّدني وتحرقني وتبعثني• سأعترف لك بكل زلاتي لكي أتطهّر، سأعترف بأني كنت جباراً لكي أدخل مملكتك، سأعترف بأن عشقك يحاصرني من كل الجهات، وأنك تشعلين الفرح في كل صباحاتي ومساءاتي، وحينها ينبلج الألق بين حركاتك وساكناتـك وقتها أعرف بأن العشق هكذا يحرق"•
