في هذا الكتاب بحث علمي يدور حول تربية البط والأوز فوق أحواض السمك، حيث يتحدث في الفصل الأول وبعد عقدة مقارنة عن مميزات الطيور البرية، يتحدث عن تربية البط تحديداً فوق أحواض السمك، ومن ثم يعقد مقارنة بين لحم الدجاج ولحم البط، بعد ذلك يفصل القول في مميزات تربية البط وفائدتها الاقتصادية، من ثم يميز بين عروق البط محدداً أهمية كل عرق وأهميته الاقتصادية.
أما الفصل الثاني فخصصه للحديث عن المزارع المختصة بتربية البط، وعن رعاية قطيع الأمات الخاصة بالتربية من ثم تطرق لموضوع تفريغ بيض البط ولحضانة البط ورعايته، كما فصل القول في أمراض البط، وأخيراً أورد دراسة اقتصادية لمشروع تربية طيور البط فوق أحواض الأسماك، وتناول في الفصل الثالث موضوع تربية الطيور المائية الأوز، مفصلاً القول في أهم عروق الأوز، أنواعها المنتشرة في العالم، حظائر الأوز، تكاثر الأوز، رعاية فراخ أو صيصان الأوز، وأخيراً عدد الأمراض التي يعاني منها هذا النوع من الطيور المائية وشرح أساليب رعايتها الصحية الحوضية.
هذا كتاب حلقة ضمن سلسلة تدور حول تربية الدواجن والطيور، وذلك لأن تربية الدواجن مفيدة جداً من الناحيتين الاقتصادية والغذائية، فهي لا تحتاج إلى مساحات واسعة، بالإضافة إلى قصر دورة رأس المال المستخدم في مشاريعها الاقتصادية، إضافة إلى توفير البروتين الضروري لحياة السكان بمدة قصيرة، وهذه دراسات علمية متطورة حول مشاريع الدواجن وبيان أهميتها الاقتصادية والغذائية.
