إن أهميّة هذا الكتاب الذي يصدر بعد سنوات سبع على قيام الثورة السورية تكمن في دقة التوثيق وتأريخ كل حدث، والإشارة إلى توقيت نشره ومكانه، والأهم من ذلك كله المعرفة العميقة بالكواليس التي تؤمن لقدم الصحافي الرشيق واللاذع بصيرة كاشفة، فقد عاصر محمد منصور عدة وزراء إعلام ومدراء تلفزيونات وكان يعمل داخل التلفزيون السوري لمعدّ ومنتج شهد مرحلة "سقوط دولة المذيعات" اللواتي كنّ يتحكمن بكل شيء في الحقل الإعلامي يتحالفهن مع كبار الضباط، ثم إيقاف صحيفة (الدومري) التي أطلقها الفنان على فرزات، وكان المؤلف بين كتابها، بعد صدور العدد الذي أطلقت عليه الصحيفة "عدد الإيمان بالإصلاح" لتكشف بعده أنه لا الدولة ولا أجهزتها ولا إعلامها يريدون إصلاحاً يكشف الفساد ويعرّي الإستبداد، وقد كشف قرار إيقاف الصحيفة عن هزال ونفاق رئيس الدولة نفسه بشار الكيماوي الذي سهل إصدار ترخيص (الدومري) وكان يدّعي صداقة الفنان، ويوحي بأنه مع الإعلام الحرّ، فلما وقعت الواقعة تجاهل الأمر، واتخذ وضعية الميت وكان شيئاً لم يكن!.
والمثير في هذا الكتاب رغم إهتمامه بالجوهر والمعنى وشروط الإحتراف المهني، إهتمام مؤلّفه الصبور بتوثيق الأكاذيب الصغيرة التي كان يطلقها ويدافع عنها مدراء التلفزيونات المتعاقبين، والتي ترسم لوحة للمناخ الذي كانت تعيشه سورية، ويحسب للمؤلّف أثناء توثيقه لتلك المعارك الصغيرة تبشر صغار مصداقيته في النقل، فقد حرص أن يضع في الكتاب ردود خصومه وحتى من شتموه، لأنه كان مشغولاً برسم اللوحة الكاملة لتلك المعارك بأمانة.
