قصة الملك فاروق من بين سير الملوك التي تختلف بدايتها عن نهايتها, ففي بداية عهده التف حوله الشعب المصري بجميع طوائفه, وعقد عليه آماله وطموحاته.. وفي نهاية عهده أستسلم فاروق للإحباط والأنكسار والهزيمة مما عجل بنهاية عهده, وتختلف الرؤي حول شخصية الملك فاروق وفترة حكمه.. فيري بعض الكتاب أن فاروق كان ملكاً فاسداً عابثاً أدي سوء حكمه إلي خراب البلاد, بينما يري البعض الآخر أنه كان يتوق لإصلاح حال البلاد, وكان محباً ومخلصاً لوطنه وشعبه, وأنه كانت له كثير من الخلال الحميدة, والجوانب المضيئة في سيرته تم حجبها عن الناس بعد أنتهاء عهده.
ومن النادر أن نجد من بين هؤلاء الكتاب من قدم صورة موضوعية عن حياته.. وعن حكمه.. وعن ظروف عصره..
