تكمن أهمية هذه الدراسة فى تناولها للمصادر المرجعية المتاحة على شبكة الإنترنت فى مجال على المصريات, والت يمكن الإعتماد عليها فى إستقاء المعلومات الأساسية واللازمة للتعرف على هذا المجال من قبل الباحثين.
وفى ضوء ماسبق تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على طبيعة المصادر المرجعية المتاحة على شبكة الإنترنت فى مجال على المصريات, وتحديد معايير تقييم تلك المواقع, وذلك بهدف الوقوف على مواطن الضعف والقوة الموجودة بها.
ولذلك تهدف الدراسة إلى الإجابة على التساؤلات الأتية:-
ما أهم المعايير المقترحة لتقييم المصادر المرجعية المتخصصة بالمجال؟
ما اهم مجالات وتخصصيات على المصريات؟
ما وسائل البحث فى مجال على المصريات؟
ما وسائل الدعم المؤسسى والتمويلى لمجال على المصريات؟
ما أهم فئات المصادر المرجعية المتاحة على الإنترنت فى مجال على المصريات؟
ما الإتجاهات العددية والنوعية لمواقع المصادر المرجعية المتاحة على الإنترنت فى مجال علم المصريات؟
ما مواطن الضعف والقوة الموجودة بتلك المواقع؟.
تعتمد الدراسة على المنهج الببليوجرافى الببليومترى الذى يقوم على أساس إعداد لقوائم التى تحصر وتصف وتسجل الإنتاج الفكرى, ودراسة الإتجاهات العددية والنوعية له. ففى الدراسة الحالية, تم إعداد حصر مبدئى لأعداد وفئات المصادر المرجعية المتاحة على شبكة الإنترنت فى مجال على المصريات, ونظراً لضخامة كم الإنتاج الفكرى فى هذا المجال, وتضاعف أعداد المواقع بإستمرار, والتى قد تصل إلى مئات الألاف بمحركات البحث المختلفة, إنتقت الباحثة عينة عشوائية ممثلة لفئات الدراسة, بواقع خمسة مواقع لتمثيل كل فئة على حدة من فئات المصادر المرجعية المتخصصة بالمجال والسابق ذكرها.
