علم الصرف في المقام الأول هو مجموعة من المهارات المكتسبة التي لا تحصل بالتعلم النظري وحده إذ لا بد من تعميق ذلك بطائفة من التدريبات التي تعمق النظرية وتمكن الدارس من التحليل الصرفي الصحيح وهو هدف من أهداف هذا العلم. ومن خلال هذا الكتاب يقدم المؤلف التدريبات الموافقة لمفردات علم الصرف الذي يتعلمه الطلاب والطالبات في قسم اللغة العربية بكلية الآداب (جامعة الملك سعود). وتنتهج هذه التدريبات طريقة الجداول والاستبانات التي تتصف بسرعة الإنجاز وبوضوح التحليل وتعدد الإمكانات وهي بهذه الصفة تنظم التدريب وتكشف عن الأخطاء بسهولة تساعد المعلم على التقويم، وقد صححت حقول كل تدريب لتكون متدرجة يعتمد بعضها على بعض ويقدم مثالاً محلولاً لكل تدريب وقد اعتمد في أمثلته على آيات مختارة من القرآن الكريم ورتب تدريباته موافقة لمحتويات كتاب (دروس في علم الصرف).
