الإمام الطحاوي من أئمة أهل السنة وله مصنفات كثيرة نافعة، وعلى رأسها هذا المتن المصنف في عقيدة أهل السنة والجماعة، ولقد كان للعلماء استدراكات وتعقيبات على متن العقيدة الطحاوية، وهذه الاستدراكات التي ذكرها العلماء، لم تكن على سبيل الانتقاص من قدر العلم الصحيح والقيم الذي احتواه المتن، ولكن كانت على سبيل التفصيل لما قد يكون قد أجمل في المتن، أو على سبيل التصويب والتوضيح لبعض العبارات الحمالة لعدة أوجه، أو العبارات الموهمة.
وقد قيض الله سبحانه لهذا المتن من شرحه شرحاً مستفيضاً على أصول اهل السنة، وهو الإمام ابن أبي العز الحنفي - رحمه الله - وقد أثبت صحة نسبة هذا الشرح إليه بالأدلة علماء أفاضل من أهل السنة والجماعة، ولقد كتب الله سبحانه القبول لهذا المتن بين أهل العلم وطلبته، ومن ثم نرجو أن يكون هذا العمل تسهيل الانتفاع بمتن العقيدة الطحاوية، فيه العون لطلبة العلم على تحقيق الاستفادة من المتن، حيث إن الشيخ خالداً قد عنى فيه بترتيب المتن الأصلي حسب أركان الإيمان، مما يسهل على طالب العلم حفظ المتن، ثم قام بتوثيق نص المتن على عدة نسخ خطية حتى يخرج في أدق صوره إن شاء الله تعالى، ثم أخيراً أضاف إليه تعليقات هامة بعد تعليقات وتعقيبات كل من:
الإمام الشيخ عبد العزيز بن مانع، والإمام الشيخ عبد العزيز بن باز، والإمام المحدث محمد ناصر الدين الألباني - رحمهم الله تعالى -وفضيلة الشيخ صالح الفوزان، وفضيلة الشيخ عبد العزيز الراجحي.
