تعاملت الأقطار العربية مع التقنيات التربوية في التعليم منذ أكثر من ثلاثة عقود بالنسبة إلى البعض منها واعتبرت هذا التعامل مدخلا لتحسين مناهجها وتطوير الطرائق التربوية التي تستعملها واستراتيجيات التقويم والتنظيم العام للدراسة، الى غير ذلك. فخصصت ميزانيات لتأمين الأجهزة والمواد التعليمية وبعثت هياكل لإدارتها ووحدات لها بالمناطق وعقدت دورات تدريبية لفائدة المدرسين واطر الاشراف التربوي والفنيين...
بعد هذا الجهد وهذه الانجازات، وجب التساؤل عن الواقع الحالي لإستخدام التقنيات التربوية وهو تساؤل حاولت الدراسة ان تجيب عنه مستخدمة للغرض استبانة وزعت على الاقطار العربية كافة فرجعت منها الى المنظمة العربية للتربية والثقافة والعلوم (إدارة التقنيات التربوية) عشر استبانات معمرة تمحورت عملية التفريغ للبيانات المسجلة بها والتحليل حول وضع الأجهزة المؤولة عن التقنيات التربوية ووضع العاملين بها وتوافر المواد والأجهزة التعليمية وظروف استخدامها في مدارس التعليم الإبتدائى والمتوسط/ الإعدادي والثانوي وحول صيانتها وتأمينها وحول الميزانية المخصصة لها والصعوبات التي قد تعترض توظيفها والمشاكل التي قد تعوق تطويرها والمقترحات لتجاوزها وأفضت الدراسة إلى جملة من الاستنتاجات والتوصيات صنفت حسب أبعاد ثلاثة: البعد المؤسسى والبعد العملي الميداني والبعد الابستمولوجي.
