لذلك تحرى المؤلف أخبار الصوفية المشاهير وتبين نماذج حياتهم الخالصة المؤمنة الرفيعة، واطلع في بطون الكتب والأسفار، وغوامض السير والأخبار، على ملامح التصوف الحقيقي، ومعالم الإنسانية السامية، ثم عمد إلى تناول هذا الموضوع كدراسة علمية من الناحية التاريخية متوخياً الحقيقة، مستنيراً في هذا الخصوص بما وقع في يديه من مراجع ومصادر ومن وثائق وصور لبعض مجاهدي الصوفية أو رسائلهم التي بعثوا بها يدعون فيها للجهاد ضد المحتلين. والمؤلف بهذا الكتاب أضاف إلى الكتب التي تحدثت عن جوانب الحياة المختلفة عند الصوفية كتاباً قيماً يضاف إلى كتب الصوفية في ميدان الجهاد.
