يبين ما تردت به الأمة العربية و الإسلامية في مهاوي الشقاء و التعاسة و الضعف و الانهيار و الفقر و الجوع و الحرمان. لكن الكاتب أراد السير في سبيل الوصول إلى مأتى هذا الشقاء بعد السعادة الكبرى التي أحلنا بها رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم و جعلنا أرحم أمة أخرجت للناس, فوجدنا أن الشرك ظلم عظيم و استنشقنا رائحة الدسوس على كتاب الله و على سنة رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم. فأبت إنسانية الدكتور المفكر و المواطن المصري المصلح مصطفى محمود إلا أن تزيل الإبلاس وتسلط الأضواء على هذه الدسوس لتذهب بالداء أصلاً و ترجع للنهوض وصلاً رغم أنه(و إذا ذكرت ربك في القرآن وحده ولوا على أدبارهم نفوراً). و يحتوي الكتاب على فصلين: يتحدث الفصل الأول عن حقيقة الشفاعة, الكعبة المشرفة و السراج المنير, أمثلة عن الشفاعة من القرآن الكريم. الفصل الثاني: نقد الحكم العدل بين اختلاف الأمة.
