هذا الكتاب والذي كان رسالة الدكتوراه الخاصة بي والتي كانت بعنوان "التغيير الهيكلي وتحديات عملية التنمية الإقتصادية في الدول النامية: دراسة تطبيقية علي الإقتصاد المصري" وعند محاولة نشر هذه الرسالة فقد قمت بتعديلها بشكل يناسب القارئ العربي وتحويل ما يخص الدول النامية من خصائص وتحديات وغيرها إلي خصائص وتحديات للدول العربية هذا في الفصل الأول من الباب الأول, أما الفصل الثاني من نفس الباب فقد قمت أيضاً بتقييم نظريات التنمية من وجهة نظر الدول العربية لا النامية وتم أقتراح لتحديد مدي ملائمة تلك النظريات للدول العربية مع وضع مقومات لنظرية تنمية تناسب القرن الحادي والعشرين في الدول العربية, ونفس الشئ في الفصل الثالث حيث قمت بتعديل لملامح تدني التنمية التكنولوجيا من الدول النامية إلي مصر والدول العربية وكذلك المعوقات والتحديات التي تواجه التنمية التكنولوجيا في الدول النامية إلي الدول العربية, إما باقي أجزاء الرسالة هي كما هي. ولهذا أخترت لهذا الكتاب عنوان "التنمية الإقتصادية والتغير الهيكلي في الدول العربية: النظرية - القياس - الأسباب:" هذا الكتاب يعتبر المنهج والنظرية والقياس للتغيير الهيلكي وكذلك تحديد أسباب هذا التغيير, وأيضاً قياس للعلاقة المتبادلة بين التغيير الهيكلي والتنمية الإقتصادية. كما أن هذه الدراسة التطبيقية والنماذج والمؤشرات المستخدمة فيها يمكن أستخدمها لقياس التغيير الهيلكي وتحديد أسبابه في أي بلد متي توافرت البيانات لذلك.
وبناء عليه فقد قمت بتقسيم هذا الكتاب إلي ثلاثة أبواب علي النحو التالي: الباب الأول: مفهوم ونظريات التنمية الإقتصادية والتغيير التكنولوجي في الدول العربية.
الباب الثاني: التنمية الإقتصادية تقتضي النمو والتغييرالهيكلي.
الباب الثالث: قياس وتحليل أتجاهات التغيير الهيكلي في النشاط الإقتصادي المصري.
