يعد علم الناسخ والمنسوخ ضروري المأخذ وجليل القدر لتعلقه بناحيتين خطيرتين.
الأول: في الفهم والتصور حيث لا فهم للنص القرآني على وجهه الصحيح دون معرفة مواضع الناسخ والمنسوخ فيه.
الثانية: في العمل والممارسة بكل تفرعاتها من عبادات وتشريعات. حتى أن من لا يعلم الناسخ والمنسوخ عد من الهالكين والمهلكين.
لذلك انبرى لهذا العلم الجليل عدداً من علماء الأمة تجاوزوا السبعين فأوسعوا فيه البحث والتدقيق والشرح والتعليق. وصنفوا فيه المصنفات الكثيرة.
ويأتي هذا الكتاب الجامع: ليحتوي على دفتين أربعة كتب منها جاءت في أزمنة مختلفة. من لدن بداية القر، الثاني الهجري حتى القرن الثامن. علاوة على ذلك كانت متفاوتة طرق التناول البسيط الذي لا يورد سوى الآيات الناسخة ويقابلها بالمنسوخة. وما جاء مثقلاً بأسباب النسخ وتواريخه والآراء المختلفة فيه مما يجعل منها لذوي الاختصاص قبله، وللباحثين معيناً. ولمن دون ذلك منيراً. وقد جاء في هذه السلسلة من الكتب، كتاب "النساخ والمنسوخ للسدويسي"، وكتاب "المصفى بأكف أهل الرسوخ لأبن الجوزري"، وكتاب "ناسخ القرآن العزيز ومنسوخه لابن البارزي"، وكتاب "الناسخ والمنسوخ للزهري".
