من الثابت أن الله عز وجل سيبعث الناس من قبورهم، ويحشرهم في أرض بيضاء نقية، من أجل الحساب ووزن الأعمال، فمن عمل صالحاً فلنفسه، ومن أساء فعليها، ويوم القيامة عصيب مخيف، وفيه من الأهوال ما تشعر له الأبدان، ويتزلزل مما فيه الكيان: من البعث، والحشر، وأجوال الموقف، والحوض، والميزان، والعرض، والحساب، والقصاص، والصراط، وغير ذلك مما سيعانيه الإنسان، فإما إلى جنة عرضها السموات والأرض، وإما إلى نار عظيمة أعدت للكافرين. ولليوم الآخر أحوال تأخذ بالألباب، وتأسر النفوس، إذ لا عاصم يومئذ إلا رحمة الله عز وجل، وهذا الكتاب تبصرة للمسترشد، وتنبيه للغافل، وتذكرة للمؤمن، حيث يبين لكل إنسان بالدليل القاطع، والبرهان الساطع، المستند إلى القرآن والسنة، أن يوم القيامة واقع، وأن له أهولاً عظيمة، ولأهمية هذا الكتاب اعتنى "يوسف يديوي" بضبط مادته وعزو الآيات المستشهد بها إلى أماكنها من السور القرآنية، وبتخريج الأحاديث والآثار الواردة، والتعليق على بعض المواضع، بما يغني ويفيد، كما واعتنى بشرح الكلمات الصعبة، ثم بإعداد وفهرس للأحاديث النبوية، وآخر للموضوعات العامة.
