ينفتح هذا الكتاب على تجارب الأعمال المسرحية التجريبية في الخليج العربي والوطن العربي، ويبحث عن دور النص في العمل المسرحي، لذلك جاء عنوانه (النص والتقنية إلى أين) وللإجابة عن هذا السؤال قارب بعض المشاركين في أبحاث هذا الكتاب تقنيات النص والعرض وكذلك عملية الفصل بين شخصية المخرج، وما يؤديه من إمكانات توظيف النص في تقنية العرض المسرحي وشخصية المؤلف، وما يؤديه) ويوحي به من إمكانيات قراءة النص وإمكانيات تأويله في سبيل بناء تقنية مسرحية جديدة .. وبهذا المعنى ينفتح النص على كل الأدوار ابتداءً من المؤلف وانتهاءً بالسينوفرافيا.
تأتي أهمية هذا الكتاب من كون جميع أبحاثه وضعت إصبعها بقوة عند خاصية التقاطع بين أكثر من وظيفة وأكثر من دور وأكثر من سلطة من أجل أن يكتظ العرض المسرحي بشحنات جمالية وتقنية ذات قدرة أكبر على التواصل مع المتلقي.
والكتاب هو حصيلة أعمال الندوة الفكرية التي نظمتها الدورة السابعة في سلطنة عُمان في الفترة ما بين 10-17 مايو 1999م، ملبية الحاجة إلى طرح معالجات نقدية متقدمة ومن خلال مسرحيين لهم خبرتهم العميقة في هذا المجال.
وعليه يعرض الكتاب الأبحاث الآتية:
