إن الألعاب لم تعد اليوم وسيلة للتسلية أو لقضاء أوقات الفراغ، بل أصبحت أداة مهمة يحقق بها المرء النمو العقلي والمعرفي؛ ومن الإستراتيجيات الفاعلة التي تستخدم لتنمية الأداء اللغوي وتحسينه لدى الأطفال، فهي تجعل المتعلمين أكثر فاعلية ومشاركة في الموقف التعليمي، وتضعهم في مواقف تشبه مواقف الحياة اليومية، وتساعدهم على تركيز الإنتباه، والإدراك والتخيل، والإبتكار والإبداع.
وبناءً على ما سبق، تعد الألعاب اللغوية من الإستراتيجيات التعليمية الفاعلة وخاصةً في الحلقة الأولى من التعليم الأساسي، فهي نشاط يمارسه الطالب عندما يستخدم جملة من حواسه بقصد تنمية السلوك المهاري المستهدف.
ومن وسائل التدريب على الإستعمال اللغوي السليم، ويمكن الإستعانة بها في التدرب على عدد من الأبواب النحوية المختلفة، كما تساعد المتعلم على النطق الصحيح، ونثري مفرداته، وتساعده على التعبير السلس، مع وضوح الفكرة وتسلسلها، وتنمي مواهبه الأدبية وذوقه الفني، وتوسع أفق خياله، وتشبع رغبته في التعبير عما يجول في خاطره بصورة تلقائية.
كما يمكن لمعلم اللغة العربية من إختيار مشكلة ما في اللغة، ثم إقتراح مجموعة من الألعاب اللغوية التي تساعد في تذليل هذه الصعوبات، مثل التميز الصوتي؛ أثر اللهجات العامية، والتميز البصري للحروف المتشابهة، والتاء المربوطة في آخر الكلمة، والتاء المربوطة والتاء المبسوطة، والشدة والسكون... وهناك ألعاب لغوية يمكن أن تستخدم في مجال تعليم اللغة كألعاب النطق، والقراءة، والكتابة، والإتصال، كما يمكن الإستعانة بها على التدرب على مهارات اللغة الرئيسية (الإستماع والكلام، والقراءة والكتابة).
ونظراً لأهمية الألعاب اللغوية في المجال التربوي، ووجود العديد من الدراسات التي أظهرت فعاليتها، جاء إعداد هذا الكتاب ليوضح كيفية إستخدامها في مجال تدريس مهارات اللغة العربية.
