يبحث في كواليس تلك الحقبة التاريخية، ودور الرئيس الراحل حافظ الأسد في مسار الصراع، والمحادثات والمفاوضات لإستعادة الجولان المحتل مقابل السلام.
ويطرق إلى العلاقات العربية - العربية والدبلوماسية الأميركية من كامب دافيد مروراً بالحرب في داخل لبنان وبداية المقاومة الوطنية، وإنتهاء الحرب العراقية - الإيرانية وغزو الكويت، إلى مؤتمر مدريد وعملية السلام، إنهيار الإتحاد السوفياتي، وإتفاقية أوسلو وتداعياتها على القضية الفلسطينية إلى يومه الأخير في 10 حزيران / يونيو من العام 2000.
تروى الدكتورة بثينة شعبان، المستشارة الإعلامية والسياسية للرئاسة السورية، التي حاورتها الإعلامية سعاد قاروط العشّي في هذه السلسلة الوثائقية، ما اطلعت عليه من وثائق وسجلات وما شاهدته وشهدت عليه إلى جانب دبلوماسيين وسياسيين ومؤرخين مثال: ريتشارد مورفي، وليم كوانت، كريم بقرادوني، فارس بويز، إيلان بابيه، ألكسندر زوتوف، عباس زكي، طلال ناجي، عبد الله الأشعل، حسين شيخ الإسلام، حسن فضل الله، سيد عبد الغني وماهر الطاهر.
أما فريق عمل الوثائقي فهم: د. ندى النجفي (منتج منفذ)، رشيد كنج (مدير الإنتاج)، زاهر العريضي (معد ومنتج)، هالة بوصعب (إخراج) وأمير بن جدو (مساعد مخرج)، السلسلة التوثيقية تم عرضها على شاشة "الميادين" خلال عام 2018.
