يعالج هذا الكتاب تربية النحل من كل نواحيها ويركز على الأمور العملية التي تهم النحال وتفيده في ممارسته لمهنة النحالة. كعمل يهدف الى إنتاج العسل بالدرجة الأولى. يأخذ الكتاب بيد النحال منذ أن تضع الملكة البيضة الأولى في بداية الربيع الى أن يحل الشتاء ويدخل النحل في هدوءه, ويعرج خلال ذلك على أمور هامة مثل رش المبيدات وغيرها. يأخذ الكاتب المبدأ العلمي الذي يقول: (إن النحل حشرة تسيرها الغرائز, وفي كل فترة من فترات السنة تسيطر غريزة منها وعلى النحال أن يعرف الغريزة المسيطرة ويتصرف على أساسها لمصلحته وإن كان لغير مصلحة النحل. يركز الكتاب على استثمار الرحيق المتوفر في الطبيعة ويبين كيفية تهيئة الطوائف لذلك والانتقال من محصول الى آخر. كما يتحدث بإسهاب عن التطريد ومضاره ومنافعه وكيفية منعه أو استثماره بحيث لا يعيق الجني. كما يتحدث بطريقة عملية عن اختيار الملكات وتربيتها وإدخالها للخلايا مع التركيز على الصعوبات التي تتعلق بذلك.
وفي آخر الكتاب فصل موسع عن أمراض النحل وطرق علاجها بطرق عملية ومبتكرة. وقد أضيفت فقرات وفصول من مصادر مختلفة معدلة حسب الظروف المحلية لاستكمال الفائدة وتغطية كافة المجالات.
