وتنفرد هذه الطبعة بتناول أحدث تقنيات صناعة الفيلم السينمائى رقمياً، بما فى ذلك تقنيات ومعدات إنتاج الفيديو العالى الإيضاحية HD Video والتسجيل غير المعتد على أشرطة Tapeless Resording، بالإضافة إلى استخدام الكاميرات الرقمية الانعكاسية ذات العدسة الواحدة DSLRs لإنتاج أفلام سينمائية، بعد أن ظل استخدام هذه الكاميرات، لسنوات طويلة، قاصراً على التصوير الفوتوغرافى.
ونظراً للطبيعة الخاصة لصانع الفيلم العربى، وافتقاره إلى مصادر متعددة للمعرفة السينمائية الرقمية، لم يتوقف المترجم عند حدود ترجمة النص الأصلى للكتاب، فأضاف إلى الكتاب أكثر من 125 هامشاً، بالإضافة إلى تذييل الكتاب بقائمة بأهم المصطلحات النظرية والعملية ذات الصلة، اعتمادا على موسوعتين من تأليفه شخصيا هما "موسوعة الشاشة الكبيرة" التى صدرت عام 2012، و"موسوعة الشاشات الصغيرة" التى لا تزال تحت الطبع.
