هذا الكتاب تقدم دراسةٍ شاملةٍ عن الإضطهاد الّذي تعرّضت له الأقليّات الدينيّة والعرقيّة في منطقة الشّرق الأوسط، ودراسةٍ احوال هذه الأقليّات قبل تعرّضها لموجات الإرهاب الجديد وبعدها، معتمداً على أمثلةٍ قمنا برصدِ أحوالها قبل وبعد الإرهاب، وكذلك تقديم رؤيةٍ شاملةٍ عن واقع الإرهاب وظاهرة الجماعات الإرهابيّة، كالنّصرة وداعش وأخواتها، وعن منهج هذه الظاهرة وسُبُل مكافحتها، وإستراتيجيّة إدارة الأزمة السّوريّة الّتي صاغتها الدّول الفاعلة للتّخلّص من هذه الظّاهرة، وأهميةٌ خاصة يمكن أن نضيفها إلى الكتاب تتمثّل في طُرُق حماية الأقليّات في ظلِّ ظروفٍ قاسيةٍ كالّتي شهدتها بالأخصّ في العراق ثمّ سوريا.
وكان لتسليط الضّوء على حزب الله في لبنان ودورِه في الصّراع أثرٌ بالغ في أهميّة هذا الكتاب والبحث في طابع الصراع الذي أراد البعض إلباسه لبوس الطائفية وخاصةً بعد مشاركة أطراف غير طائفية في المعارك، فقد أعلن المرصد السوري أن مقاتلي الحزب السوري القومي الإجتماعي شاركوا في الكثير من المعارك خاصة في المناطق ذات الغالبية المسيحية، حيث قاتلوا في معارك معلولاً بريف دمشق، وكذلك في منطقة صدد بريف حمص، إضافة إلى إنتشارهم قرب جرمانا، وقد سقط لهم شهداء من الجنسيتين اللبنانية والسورية؛ إضافةً إلى دور الأمم المتّحدة في شرعنة الكفاح المسلح للتّفرقة بين الأعمال المقاومة وتلك الإرهابيّة.
