نظراً لندرة الكتب العلمية العربية التي تتحدث في تكنولوجيا الطاقة الشمسية، وبناءً على الحاجة المُلحَّة لمثل هذه الكتب، ونزولاً عند رغبة العديد من الزملاء والطلبة، رأيت أنه من الجدير توفير مادة علمية تُعين الباحثين والمهتمين بمجال الطاقة الشمسية على فهم أساسياته ومبادئه وطبيعة مكوناته، ضمن أسلوب علمي مبسط يستطيع القارئ استيعابه بسهولة ويسر.
كما حرصت - قدر الإمكان - على أن تحتوي هذه المادة على كل ما له علاقة بأنظمة الطاقة الشمسية من مفاهيم ومصطلحات تواجه العاملين والمهتمين بهذا المجال، حيث يتضمن الكتاب في مقدمته شرحاً موجزاً عن ماهية الطاقة الشمسية والإشعاع الشمسي، ومن ثم يبدأ بشرح مكونات النظام الشمسي من (الألواح، البطاريات، منظمات الشحن، العاكسات، الكابلات، أنظمة الحماية والتأريض)، وكل ما يتعلق بهذه المكونات من معايير وأسس يلزم اتباعها عند التعامل معها، إلى أن ينتهي الكتاب بشرح طريقة مبسطة لتصميم أنظمة الطاقة الشمسية بإتباع عدة خطوات متتابعة ومتسلسلة يستطيع القارئ تطبيقها بسهولة ويسر.
ولقد ساهم بمراجعة هذا الكتاب نخبة من الأساتذة والخبراء في مجال الطاقة الشمسية من مختلف مؤسسات مدينة غزة، والذين أُكن لهم جزيل الشكر والامتنان على ما بذلوه من عطاء ومجهود في انجاز هذا العمل وإصداره على أفضل صورة ممكنة.
