يسعى هذا العدد من مسارات، وبعد مرور عقد على إنشاء المركز في عام 2003م، إلى إستجلاء الصورة، وإدراك المزيد عن تلك المؤسسة: (مركز الحوار الوطني) في المملكة العربية السعودية، وهل كانت مناشطه تمثل محاولة ناجعة لمعالجة القضايا الإجتماعية والسياسية التي تعبر بدقة عن تطلعات المجتمع السعودي المعاصر وإهتماماته، من خلال تقويم أهمية اللقاءات الوطنية للحوار الفكري، ليس هذا فحسب، بل أيضاً من خلال الإهتمام الذي يوليه بالخطاب الثقافي الذي انبثق مؤخراً، ومناقشة تأثير تلك المبادرة بوصفها فضاء للنقاش الفكري، علاوة على ذلك، يناقش هذا العدد برامج التدريب والأنشطة الحوارية الأخرى في المركز التي لا يعرف عنها إلا القليل؛ على سبيل المثال: لجنة الشباب التي طرح أعضاؤها وجهات نظرهم في منتدى جدة الإقتصادي بتاريخ (18- 20 مارس، 2014م) بحضور سعادة الأمين العام لمركز الحوار الوطني فيصل المعمر، ونائبه الدكتور فهد السلطان.
ويستند هذا العدد من مسارات إلى العمل الميداني في المملكة الذي أنجز في أكتوبر 2009 إلى أبريل 2014م، واشتمل على مقابلات نوعية في جميع أنحاء المملكة العربية السعودية، من بينها مقابلات أجريت مع: المشاركين في أنشطة الحوار الوطني المذكورة والمسؤولين في مركز الحوار الوطني، ووزراء في الحكومة، ومحامين، وصحفيين، والمجموعات المهتمة (ذكوراً وإناثاً) وأعضاء الدوائر التي تمثل أقلية.
