وأنا منكبة على دفاترك ورسائلك، يا حبيبى، أحاول أن أبلور. للذين يحبونك من خلال كتاباتك، صورتك المتعددة والدقيقة والموغلة فى الهروب، أيضاً فمن أية زواية أتحدث عنك، من دون أن أخونك؟ كل ما كنت تبشر به، وتطمح إليه، وكل ما كنت، أعثر عليه الآن فى هذه الأوراق التى بدأت تصفر وتتقصف مثل قشرة جليد رقيقة فوق بركة مياة خريفية، صمت طويل يوقعه خرير غليونك، مناجاه ذربة لمن تحب، موهبة خارقة فى فتح أشد الأرواح انغلاقا، والأستماع إلى الأصدقاء، وأصدقاء الأصدقاء. وصولاً إلى تلك اللقاءات الطارئة فى شوارع مجهولة، وكلمات مجانين القرى الذين كنت الوحيد القادر على جعلهم يعبرون. كنت تخرج لإفتناء جريدة، ووضع رسالة فى البريد، وتعود مثل ساعى بريد حاملاً حقيبتك الملأى حكايات، كنت أسلك الردوب ذاتها، ألتقى الوجوه ذاتها، غير أننى ولا تزال مسلحة بقلمك، فتروى لي شيئاً ما، كى تضحكنى وتدفع فى قلبى المسرة. تجانس مياة الأعماق وصفاؤها، وهدوؤها الدائم، حتى إذا حركت العاصمة سطحها، حتى إذا انقبض محياك لبراهة وجيزة، وبح صوتك.. كيف أتعامل مع الكلمات، كيف أمدها، كيف أضبطها، أروضها، أخضعها، أخنقها، من دون أن أجعلها تنفجر حناناً وقسوة، كى تتمكن من إستيعابك؟ كيف أبنى ذلك السجن الذى كنت ترغب أن تسجن فيه؟. عندما أموت، أكتبى عنى كتاباً.. لا، لا، لا، لابد من كاتب موهوب. سوف تضعين كتاباً عنى، يا لينوتشكا، عليك أن تفعلى ذلك، لأن الآخرين سوف يقولون عنى أشياء كثيرة غير دقيقة. أنت الوحيدة التى تعرفيننى جيداً. كم مرة أقسمت ألا أفعل؟ وحينئذٍ؟.. حينئذ أكون أعجز من أن أكتب، أو إذا أردت قول الحقيقة، كنت سأتخلى عن مثل هذه المهمة فى نصف الطريق، لولا عثورى، ذات ليلة، على كلمات بخط يدك، فى أوراق مهملة، وقد كتبتها بسرعة وبقلم رصاص: خطة أولية لكتابى..
وها أنذى أخوض التجرية، ألا أكتب رواية، هذا ممكن، وبسهولة، أما أن أصفك، وأضمك، واثبتك بإبرة ذهبية، كما لو كنت أثبت فراشة، فهذا ما يثور له قلبى. لأننى أحب الفراشات وأحب تخيلها وهى تتطاير فالتة، فوق رأسينا..
