هذه الرواية هي أكبر عمل في الأدب الكندي الإنكليزي، في كل الأزمنة، بيع منها ستون مليون نسخة، وترجمت إلى عشرات اللغات، حُوّلت إلى فيلم سينمائي وإلى مسلسل تلفزيوني مرات كثيرة، أُلّفتْ بالإستناد إليها والإقتباس منها مسلسلات إذاعية ومسرحيات موسيقية شاهدها ملايين من الناس.
أصدر بريد كندا عام 2008 طابعين بريديين تكريماً لــ "آن" والجملونات الخضراء"، صنّفتها عدد من المواقع الإلكترونية على أنها واحدة من ضمن أهم مئة رواية عالمية، تحوّل منزل "الجملونات الخضراء" إلى متحف عام 1990، وتم الحفاظ عليه كما جاء وصفه في الرواية؛ وتحول في العام 2004 إلى موقع تاريخي وطني.
أُدرجتْ ضمن منهاج المدارس الثانوية في اليابان، وفي عدد من الدول الأخرى.
سحرت الصغار والكبار، وأجمع النقاد على أنها أجمل الروايات الرومانسية العالمية؛ نشوة تامة من البداية حتى النهاية!...
لخّصَ الروائي الأمريكي الكبير مارك توين فَرَادة "آن" - بطلة هذه الرواية - وأصالتها، بوصفها الأكثر فتنة، والأعز على قلوب القرّاء.
كانت قيادة الجيش البولونية تقدم، في الحرب العالمية الثانية، نسخة من هذه الرواية إلى الجنود لرفع معنوياتهم، وإحياء الأمل في نفوسهم.
نُشِرتْ للمرة الأولى في العام 1908، وحققت منذ صدورها، نجاحاً ساحقاً، عشر طبعات في سنتها الأولى، ولا تزال تُقرأ وتُدَرّس عبر العالم، وتندرج ضمن سلسلة روائع أدب العجائب.
