وأنبتُّ فيكِ نشيدَ الحياةِ... فأمرعتِ أنتِ وذابَ الغناءْ... فهُزّي إليكِ بجذْعِ الوفاءِ... يُساقِطْهُ منديلُكِ الأصفرُ... تعالي إذا الليلُ شاخَ وجفّتْ... عيونٌ سبانا بهَا السُّمَرُ... تشبُّ بعينيكِ نارُ الحياةِ... لعلَّ سهيلاً بها يسهرُ... فلا عقْلَ للحُبِّ غيرَ الحياةِ... ولا شيءَ يثنيهِ أو يعْذِرُ...
ولنْ تستطيعي بغيرِ الوفاءِ... عبورَ شماريخِكِ الخلَّدِ... أعيذُكِ منْ عادياتِ التصحّرِ... إنْ أوغلتْ في حماكِ الندي... إذا مُتِّ ظمأى فلنْ تشربي... منَ الحُبِّ إلاّ دموعَ غدي... ولنْ تجدي ما يعيدُ الرّميمَ... حياةً سوى لذّةِ الموعدِ...
