يشتمل هذا الكتاب على محاضرات الموسمين الثقافيين الخامس والسادس لمركز تحقيق التراث، وهو يضم إحدى عشرة محاضرة لتسعة من العلماء المهتمين بالتراث بوجه عام أو بأحد جوانبه العديدة، وسنجد من المحاضرات ما يلقي الضوء على دور التراث في الحركة الدبية أو دوره في ترسيخ أخلاقيات التعليم، وحدثنا عن الدور الأول (في الحركة الأدبية) الستاذ الدكتور حسين نصار، وحاضر عن الدور الثاني (أخلاقيات التعليم) الأستاذ الدكتور حسنين محمد ربيع.
ومن الإهتمامات الواضحة في هذين الموسمين أيضاً ما يتصل بالتراث العلمي وأهميته وبع موضوعاته، وهو ما يظهر واضحاً في محاضرات الأستاذ الدكتور أحمد فؤاد باشا والأستاذ الدكتور كمال الدين البتانوني- رحمه الله- كما سنجد بعض المحاضرات المهتمة بالربط بين التراث والتكنولوجيا؛ كمحاضراتي الستاذ الدكتور شريف شاهين والستاذ الدكتور علي راشد.
ولم يغب عن محاضرات هذين الموسمين غظهار العلاقات الحاكمة بين التراث من ناحية والفنون المختلفة كالحكايات الشعبية والموسيقىوالسينما من ناحية أخرى؛ وهو ما نجد أثره واضحاً في محاضرات الأستاذ الدكتورأحمد مرسي، والأستاذ الدكتور زين نصار، والأستاذ الدكتور فاروق الرشيدي، وهكذا نجد الثراء والتنوع في محاضرات هذين الموسمين، ونأمل أن يجد فيها القراء النفع والفائدة.
