عبد العزيز صالح المَقالِح (1937 -)، أديب وشاعر وناقد يمني، ولد عام 1937 في قرية المقالح في محافظة إب وهو رئيس المجمع العلمي اللغوي اليمني. ويُعد في مقدمة شعراء اليمن المعاصرين، وأحد أبرز الشعراء العرب في العصر الحديث.
درس على مجموعة من العلماء والأدباء في مدينة صنعاء، تخرج من دار المعلمين في صنعاء عام 1960، وواصل تحصيله العلمي حتى حصل على الشهادة الجامعية عام 1970، في عام 1973 حصل درجة الماجستير في اللغة العربية وآدابها من كلية الآداب جامعة عين شمس ثم درجة الدكتوراه عام 1977 من نفس الجامعة، وترقى إلى الأستاذية عام 1987. تميزت كتابته بشيء من الكلاسيكية، لكنها سرعان ما انفتحت على الحداثة. عرف عنه كتابته لقصيدة أن يحرمونا يا حبيب الغرام وتغنى بها الفنان اليمني أحمد فتحي.

كانت سنوات دراستى في مصر، التي امتدت من أواخر عام 1966 إلي أواخر 1977، مرحلة تفتح واغتناء، ومصدر تقدير وإكبار لهذا البلد العربي، الذي يشعرك أهله/ أهلك، منذ أول يوم بأنك في منزلك وبين أهلكن يفتحون لك أبواب قلوبهم. وأبواب بيوتهم، وبوابات مكتباتهم العامة والخاصة، لتستوعب منها ما تشاء، بالإضافة إلي ما تقدمه جامعاتها من معارف وعلوم.
هكذا يستهل الشاعر اليمنى الكبير عبد العزيز المقالح كتابه الذي بين أيدينا، والذي يتضمن أربع دراسات أو قراءات لأعمال عدد من كتاب مصر ومبدعيها الذين تركوا بصماتهم الواضحة في الحياة الثقافية العربية في مجالات مختلفة، فمن الرواية التاريخية البديعة "الوعاء المرمري" للأديب محمد فريد أبو حديد، إلي "مقدمة في فقه اللغة" للدكتور لويس عوض، ثم يتناول الكتابات الأدبية والفنية للكاتب الصحفي أحمد بهاء الدين، وأخيراً قراءته في الكتاب النقدي "الديوان" للأدبيين الكبيرين عباس محمود العقاد وإبراهيم عبد القادر المازني، وقد جاءت جميع القراءات في محاولة من كاتبها لإغراء القارئ بمراجعة تلك الكتب والاستفادة منها والنهل من أفكارها المشعة الباهرة.
