قد تكون الفلسفة بالأساس عملاً نقدياً يتجه ضد الأحكام المسبقة أو الظن المشترك الذي يحدد غالبا السلوك بمعناه العام. لكن كنه هذا النقد وماهيته يختلفان من فيلسوف لآخر تبعاً لاختلاف العصور والمحددات الظرفية التي تدخل في بناء الخطابات الفلسفية، ولا يعود هذا الاختلاف فقط إلى الوسائل التي يستخدمها والمسائل التي يتناولها وإنما أيضاً إلى طبيعة "النتائج" التي يتوخى الوصول إليها.
وعلى هذا فقد تناولنا في الفصل الأول وهو بعنوان "نتشه والمنهج الجنيالوجي" أسلوب الفلسفة عند نتشه وذلك من خلال مقارنته بأسلوب الفلسفة عند الفلاسفة المعاصرين مثل كانط وهيغل.
أما الفصل الثاني وهو بعنوان "نقد الأسس وتحرير المفهوم، فهو عبارة عن دراسة تحليلية لقضايا النقد الفلسفي عند نتشه كما عرضها في الفصل الأول من كتاب "جنيالوجيا الأخلاق" وقد تناولنا فيه على وجه الخصوص مسألة الأصل المزدوج وما يمكننا أن نسميه ب "تاريخانية الأخلاق" عند نتشه من حيث ارتباطها بصراعات القوى وسيطرتها.
أما الفصل الثالث وهو بعنوان "الأخلاق والمثال الزهدي" فهو عبارة عن دراسة تحليلية للفصل الثاني من الكتاب المذكور وهو استمرار لتاريخانية الأخلاق لكن عبر ربطها بالحياة والعلم والفن كل ذلك من خلال مفهوم أساسي في فلسفة نتشه وهو مفهوم المثال الزهدي.
أما الفصل الرابع فيمثل على نحو ما لحظة ما بعد نتشه لأننا استعرضنا فيه ردود الفعل الفلسفية على فلسفة نتشه وبخاصة مشروع فوكو الفلسفي المتمثل في الانتقال من جنيالوجيا الأخلاق - القوة إلى أركيولوجيا السلطة المنبثة في كل الخطابات.
