الصلاة ركن من أركان الإسلام الخمسة، وقد فرضها الله تعالى على كل مسلم بالغ عاقل في اليوم خمس مرات، ويقول مؤلف هذا الكتاب بأن من المسلمين من دعاه جهله إلى إهمال هذه الصلوات، هذا مما دعاه إلى تأليف كتابه الصلاة في الإسلام للتأكيد على فرضية الصلاة وللحض على الحفاظ على هذا الركن بتأدية الصلوات الخمسة المفروضة على المسلم كل يوم، وتم تأليف هذا الكتاب باللغة العربية، ولتعميم الفائدة، ولازدياد عدد المسلمين في الدول الأجنبية، وبين الناطقين بغير لغة الضاد، ارتأى ترجمة هذا الكتاب القيّم والمهم إلى اللغة الإنكليزية، وقد تمت ترجمة المعاني بصورة عامة إلى الإنكليزية، إلا ما اتصل بالمصطلحات الإسلامية، فقد أبقى المترجم على لفظها مع رسم حروفها باللغة الإنكليزية، وأما بالنسبة للآيات القرآنية التي أوردها المؤلف فقد أبقاها المترجم كما هي بالعربية لفظاً وحرفاً مبيناً معناها باللغة الإنكليزية، وقد رأى المترجم تفسير المصطلحات والعبارات الإسلامية بالإنكليزية وذلك لتقريب المعنى أكثر لإفهام المسلمين الناطقين بالإنكليزية.
