يعتبر ريجيس دوبريه أبرز المنظرين لموضوعة البؤرة الثورية بجانب كاسترو وغيفارا. ولكن هذه النظرية خضعت للمحك العملي عبر سلسلة من التجارب كان أبرزها تجربة غيفارا في بوليفيا والتي انتهت بشكل مأسوي سجله غيفارا بنفسه في مذكراته عن هذه الحرب.
على ضوء هذه التجارب والتطورات يناقش عدد من الثوريين من بلدان متعددة نظرية البؤرة عبر نقد كتاب دوبريه "ثورة في الثورة".
