كتاب في القراءات القرآنية يتناول قراءة الأئمة العشرة: نافع، ابن كثير، أبي عمر بن العلاء، ابن عامر، عاصم الكوفي، حمزة الكوفي، الكسائي الكوفي، أبو جعفر المدني ، يعقوب الحضرمي، خلف البزار، فذكر قراءاتهم وأشار إلى الخلافات بينهم في القراءة بأسلوب واضح وسهل.
وبالنظر لأهمية الكتاب فقد تم الاهتمام بإخراجه قشيب فيه من الجدة ما يثلج الصدور، وهو عون للقاري المبتدي وتذكرة للمقري المنتهي، يعين العقول على فهم هذا العلم الجليل، وإدراك مبهمة، وإيضاح ما استغلق منه، وكان في هذا السفر الجليل ما يلي:
أولاً: قام بنسخ كتاب "المستنير في القراءات العشر" على حسب ما يوافق قواعد الإملاء الحديثة.
2-أثبت علامات الترقيم والأقواس حسب المتعارف عليه الآن.
3-نظم النص على نسق واحد من أوله إلى آخره بما يفيد فهم النص فهماً جيداً، فتظهر معانيه ودلالاته واضحة جلية.
4-عني عناية بالغة بمقابلة أسماء الأعلام، وكذا المادة التراجمية الواردة، عنهم، ومقابلتها بما احتوته أمهات كتب التراجم المعنية بها، ولا سيما كتب تراجم القراء.
5-ترجم للأعلام، تتميماً لعموم النفع.
6-بين المصطلحات الواردة في الكتاب، شارحاً لها ومعلقاً عليها.
7-ذكر معاني الكلمات الغريبة التي تحتاج إلى شرح وإيضاح.
8-جعل ترقيم الآيات القرآنية ضمن مادة كل كتاب.
9-في ضبط الآيات القرآنية، قام بضبطها على ما يوافق قراءة حفص عن عاصم إلا إذا عمد المصنف إلى غير ذلك.
10-خرج القراءات القرآنية على الكتب المعنية بها من كتب القراءات، وكتب حجج القراءات وعللها، وكتب إعراب القرآن، والتفاسير، وكل ما له صلة بذلك.
11-قام بتخريج الشواهد الشعرية من مصادرها المعتبرة كالدواوين والمعاجم وكتب اللغة والأدب.
12-عرف بإيجاز بالقبائل التي وردت بالكتاب.
13-وضع في صدر كل صفحة من أول الكتاب إلى آخره عناوين متكررة بخط فاصل، توضح للقارئ في أي مكان هو من الكتاب.
14-قام بعمل الفهارس التي تعين على الاستفادة من الكتاب...
ثانياً: وضع مقدمة للكتاب تعرف بمؤلفه.
ثالثاً: وضع بين يدي الكتاب مبحثاً هاماً خاصاً بعلم القراءات.
