جاء الأنبياء والمرسلون برسالة واحدة من الله سبحانه وتعالى للبشر وهي رسالة الإسلام، فكل الرسالات تنادي بوحدانية الله، وأنه خالق كل شيء.. ومبدع الوجود، وأن بعد هذا العالم عالم خالد وهو عالم الآخرة الذي يجزى فيه الخيرون بما قدموا من صالح الأعمال، ويجازى فيه الذين حادوا عن شرع الله بقدر ما اقترفوا من آثام..
وكان من الطبيعي أن تكون دعوة النبي الخاتم عليه الصلاة والسلام للناس كافة لقوله تعالى {وما أرسلناك إلا كافة للناس بشيرًا ونذيرًا} (سبأ: 28) لأن رسالة الإسلام هي تتمة كل رسالات السماء.
والرسول الكريم يقول: "إن مثلي ومثل الأنبياء قبلي كمثل رجل بنى بيتًا فأحسنه وأجمله إلا موضع لبنة في زاوية، فجعل الناس يطوفون ويعجبون ويقولون: هلا وضعت هذه اللبنة، فأنا اللبنة وأنا خاتم النبيين".
وكان عليه الصلاة والسلام يقول: "بعثت إلى الناس كافة، فإن لم يستجيبوا لي فإلى العرب، فإن لم يستجيبوا لي فإلى بني هاشم، فإن لم يستجيوا لي فإلى وحدي".
ومن خلال تتبع سير الأنبياء عليهم السلام من آدم إلى محمد عليه الصلاة والسلام إنا ننظر من خلال نظرة شاملة إلى تطور البشرية عبر العصور، إلى أن اكتملت هذه الرسالة في الرسالة الخالدة الذي جاء بها النبي محمد عليه الصلاة والسلام.
