حسان علي حلاق (1946 - ) هو كاتب وأكاديمي لبناني وُلد ببيروت عام 1946 بمنطقة الطريق الجديدة، حصل على دبلوم عال في الدراسات الإسلامية ثم ماجستير في التاريخ عام 1977، وبعدها حصل على الدكتوراه من جامعة الإسكندرية عام 1981، ألّف حلاق عدة مؤلفات وقد ترجم عديد منها إلى الألمانية والإنجليزية. وهو عضو في اتحاد الكتاب اللبنانيين. وحائز على جائزة جامعة الإسكندرية التقديرية عام 2007. متزوج وله ولدان وثلاث بنات.

ألّف حلاق أكثر من خمسين مؤلفاً في مواضيع تاريخية وإسلامية، ومن أشهرها:

Book Description
مكة المكرمة من المدن المقدسة عند المسلمين، وقد ورد ذكرها في القرآن الكريم في العديد من السور والآيات الكريمة. أطلق عليها اسم بكة واسم أم القرى، وهي عاصمة الحجاز وإحدى أهم المدن في المملكة العربية والسعودية، وهي مسقط رأس النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم. ومن معالمها الكعبة الشريفة التي تتوسط المسجد الحرام ومقام سيدنا إبراهيم عليه السلام في المسجد الحرام.
ونظراً لأهمية مكة المكرمة فقد زارها وكتب عنها الكثير من الجغرافيين والرحالة والمؤرخين المسلمين الذين دونوا مشاهداتهم من هؤلاء: ابن الفقيه في كتابه "مختصر كتاب البلدان" وابن جبير في كتابه "تذكرة بالأخبار عن اتفاقات الأسفار" وابن بطوطة في كتابه "تحفة النظار في غرائب الأمصار".
فقد اختارها الدكتور "حسان حلاق" للإطلاع على مشاهداتهما وانطباعاتهما في مكة المكرمة والأراضي المقدسة، وقد حرص أن يكون منهج دراسة متضمناً لما يلي: أولاً مقدمة تحدث فينا عن كتابه، ثانياً: دراسة عن مكة المكرمة تتضمن تاريخها وأوضاعها الدينية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية والآيات القرآنية التي أشارت إليها. ثالثاً: مقدمة وتمهيد ومختصر لرحلة ابن جبير كتوطئة لنصوص الرحلة، رابعاً: مقدمة وتمهيد ومختصر لرحلة ابن بطوطة كتوطئة لنصوص الرحلة، خامساً: فهرساً للموضوعات. أما هدفه (أي هدف المؤلف، فهو تسليط الأضواء على أهم مدينة مقدسة من مدن المسلمين من خلال مشاهدات وانطباعات الرحالة المعاصرين المسلمين.
