سعينا فى هذا الكتاب إلى إلقاء الضوء على العلاقات الوثيقة جداً بين زراعة الأنسجة والهندية الوراثية والتى ظهرت نتائجها فى الفترة الاخيرة وستزداد وضوحاً فى القرن القادم بإذن الله، ولقد تناولنا فى هذا الكتاب المراحل المختلفة للحصول على مزارع أنسجة من النبات وما يتطلبة ذلك ن خلفية علمية وتاريخية وتجهيز وإعداد معمل زراعة الأنسجة والبيئات المستخدمة وبعض التطبيقات العملية والمشاكل الفنية التى تواجه القائمين بالنشاط، وقد تطرفنا أيضا إلى الهندسة الوراثية والبيولوجيا الجزيئية وذلك من خلال تعريف مبسط وكافى للمصطلحات المتداولة والاساس النظرى للتقنيات والطرق المختلفة مثل طرق نقل الجينات وومميزات وعيوب كل طريقة وكذلك تفاعل البلمرة المتسلسل والبصمات الوراثية، وقد تناولنا فى هذا الكتاب الثانوية ذات الصفات الدوائية والفعالة بيولوجيا.
ولقد حاولنا فى هذا الكتاب أن تتضح الصورة على الاقل من الناحية النظرية بالنسبة لموضوع النكولوجيا الحيوية النباتية.
