يعدّ الحديث عن الأدب التفاعلي الرقمي اليوم، مغامرة أقل ما يقال عنها أنَّها مغامرة مزلّة، كونها تتصل بمنجز إبداعي جديد، يحمل مواصفات حضاريّة لم يكن الأدب قادراً على أن يخبرها في أيّ مرحلة من مراحل تطوّره، إلاّ حين حلّ عصر التكنولوجيا والمعلوماتية - الإمفوميديا - وإستخدام الحاسوب وتقنياته كوسيط فاعل إستطاع بإمكاناته أن يتسرّب إلى كل مرافق الحياة، وأن يكون ذا أثر كبير على مستوى تسهيل العمل وإختزال الزمن، والقدرة على إحتضان التجارب الإنسانية المختلفة، بما في ذلك التجارب الأدبية (الشعريّة والنثريّة)، التي وجدت في هذه التكنولوجيا سبيلاً للجمع بين أشكال وفنون مختلفة، كالأدب وفنون التشكيل والموسيقى والإنشاد والنحت والفوتغراف، فضلاً عن التقنيات الإلكترونية الواجب حضورها، ليتمكّن المبدع من جعل هذه العناصر تتفاعل جميعاً في إنجاز نصّ جديد يسمّى (بالأدب التفاعلي والرقمي)، الذي يعدّ شكلاً من أشكال الإبداع الهادف إلى تطوير الوعي بالنصّ من خلال تجديد الكتابة العربية، ودعوته إلى إخفاء الحدود التقليدية بين القراءة والكتابة، وتحديث شكل الثقافة العربية المعاصرة لتدخل في فضاء التكنولوجيا الجديدة.
