The material of Modern Arabic has been developed over a number of years and tested in different institutions in several countries.
I have always found the response of students very enthusiastic and I hope you will find this too. In my expreience, the most important key to a successful course is to emphasize the practical, communicative and cultural aspects of the language at the same time, i.e. to teach the students to quickly master basic communicative skills while also satisfying their intellectual curiosity to learn more about Arabic civilization, its current as well as its historical dimensions. Ideally, language learning should function as a multicultural discourse in which the 'strange' and 'foreign' becom more familiar, and in which the participants learn new questions, new perspectives relating to the object of their study, thereby gaining an increased awareness of their own attitudes and perhaps develop a more critical consciousness of themselves and their motivation with regard to the subject they have chosen to learn.
