يعد التصوير الفوتوغرافي فن يعبر المصور من خلاله عن ما يحول بخاطره وعقله، والرسم والكتابة طريقة إستخدمها القدماء كوسيلة لتسجيل ما مر بهم من أحداث. كما أن التصوير أحد الوسائل التي إستخدمتها الإنسان لتسجيل وتوثيق ما يمر به خلال سنوات حياته من أحداث حلوها ومرها، ليقوم باسترجاعها عند الحاجة إليها، وكم من شخص تمنى وجود آلة تصوير في موقف ما، ليقوم بالتقاط مجموعة من الصور لذلك الموقف لتبقى شاهداً على الحدث.
وقد إشتمل هذا الكتاب على ثمان وحدات، تناولت الوحدة الأولى أسس التصوير الفوتوغرافي،
وتناولت الوحدة الثانية الكاميرا الفوتوغرافية وتطرقت إلى أجزائها الرئيسية وملحقاتها المختلفة.
أما الوحدة الثالثة فتناولت الجزء الهام في عملية التصوير وهو الفلم الحساس.
وتناولت الوحدة الرابعة العمليات النهائية لعمليات التصوير مروراً بالتحميض وطرقه المختلفة.
أما الوحدة الخامسة فكانت بعنوان المرشحات الضوئية وشملت الحديث هنا إلى بيان طريقة عمل المرشح، والأنواع، مكان التثبيت في الآلة.
أما الوحدة السادسة فتناولت الإضاءة والتصوير الداخلي والخارجي.
أما الوحدة السابعة والتي جاءت بعنوان آلات التصوير الرقمية وشملت إضافة إلى التعريف والصور الرقمية وتأثيراتها المختلفة، والأسباب التي تدعو إلى الإتجاه لهذا النوع من التصوير.
أما الوحدة الأخيرة فجاءت بعنوان تطبيقات التصوير الفوتوغرافي وأنماطه المختلفة، كما أضيف إلى جميع الوحدات الكتاب مجموعة من الأسئلة بعنوان اختبر معلوماتك والتي تهدف الى التحقق من وصول المعلومة من جانب وإعطاء الطلبة لمحة بعض الأسئلة عن هذه الموضوعات.
